Abundant tall stems of red/ deep pink flowers sit atop the leaves. Persicaria thrives in average soil, and does not mind clay, likes moisture and is perfect for edging ponds or streams, whilst being equally at home in the perennial border.
Happy in full sun however, some shade is appreciated in hot and humid areas. The flowering season is summer through autumn. Liked by butterflies and bees. The flowers are also excellent for cutting and for drying.
