ABOUT US AT LOCH LEVEN NURSERY

Loch Leven Nursery is operated by Doreen and Michael Dryden and with the help of part time staff from their small farm and nursery in Rotherham, North Canterbury.

The nursery has expanded, firstly we supplied locals and then started selling at markets and fetes and have been successfully selling online for the past 15 years. We now specialise in growing large quantities of buxus and perennials, many old fashioned and unusual perennials not seen in retail nurseries. We also grow lonicera, teucrium and escallonia.

Our plants are very hardy, the cuttings are taken from our garden and propagated in a shadehouse and then potted on into a tunnel house in winter and shadehouse in summer.  We have an excellent knowledge of what grows well in these conditions and are passionate about what we do.  So please feel free to ask questions.  We welcome you to visit our nursery and garden by appointment. Here you will find the plants  you have seen on the website and growing in our garden plus many more that we have not listed due to the number that we are carrying in stock.

We are in Rotherham, inland North Canterbury.  From the Christchurch motorway it will take you approximately 70min to drive to our property. We are 25min before Hanmer Springs.

Take the main road to Amberley, turn left at Waipara towards Hanmer Springs, drive through Culverden, approximately 2 km out of Culverden is a turn to the right sign posted Rotherham, Waiau, Kaikoura. Turn right and as you go around the corner put on your trip meter, we are 7.14km down this road.

The nursery is open by appointment, so please phone us before visiting our nursery. Phone 03 315 6408 or 027 220 5186.
